SINGAPORE (May 6): Rabobank has opened a new office in Singapore as it seeks to expand its reach in Southeast Asia.
The office at South Beach Tower will be a "product and service hub" for Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, it said in a statement today.
The Dutch bank has more than 200 employees serving companies in the commodities and agriculture sectors in the region.
"One of the key distinguishing factors is Rabobank’s food & agri sector knowledge and global network spanning more than 40 countries," Marcel van Doremaele, CEO of Rabobank Singapore, said in the statement.
"This opening is an important milestone for us as we enter a growth phase on the back of increased investment in food and agriculture in South East Asia, and with commodity trading and logistics activity in Singapore continuing to grow," he said.
