Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd has proposed to undertake a bonus issue of 4.04 billion new ordinary shares on the basis of one bonus share for every one existing share held on an entitlement date to be announced later. The group said the bonus issue is in line with the group's objective of rewarding its shareholders, apart from cash dividends.
MNC Wireless Bhd plans to raise about RM20.26 million through a private placement to develop a lifestyle e-commerce platform and for working capital. The ACE Market-listed company said the lifestyle e-commerce platform will feature lifestyle products and services such as fashion apparel, food and beverages, health and beauty care products as well as entertainment to provide a seamless shopping experience for buyers. It will also be equipped with functions to facilitate sellers in securing orders directly from live-stream video viewers.
Genetec Technology Bhd said it has secured new orders worth approximately RM59.5 million from new and existing customers. The group said RM57.9 million or 97.3% of the new orders secured came from customers in the electric vehicle and battery industry while the remaining RM1.6 million came from the hard disk drive, electronics and semiconductor industries.
Hartalega Holdings Bhd will be investing RM7 billion to build 16 new glove factories in Malaysia's northern region over the next 20 years. As part of the expansion, the rubber glove manufacturer's wholly-owned subsidiary inked a sale and purchase agreement today with Northern Gateway Free Zone Sdn Bhd — a subsidiary of Minister of Finance Inc-owned Northern Gateway Sdn Bhd — for 250 acres (101.17ha) of land in the Kota Perdana Special Border Economic Zone in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah.
Alcom Group Bhd's second-largest shareholder SCland Holdings Sdn Bhd has disposed of its 29.54% stake which it acquired from Towerpack Sdn Bhd in September 2017. Parts of the stake were disposed of by SCland to its controlling shareholders, namely Alcom managing director Datuk Lim Chee Khoon (8.86%), as well as Alcom executive directors Eng Kim Leong (8.86%) and Ang Loo Leong (3.9%).
UMW Holdings Bhd's vehicle sales rose 4.4% month-on-month (m-o-m) in February 2021, as sales of UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) jumped and supported a minor decline in Perodua sales. In a statement today, UMW said Toyota sales via UMWT rose 32% to 5,074 units in February, from 3,845 units in January, amid strong demand for Fortuner and Innova models launched in February, and the Vios and Yaris models launched in December last year.
Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) aims to complete the implementation of the Automated Queue Management System (AQMS) at all critical touch points at KLIA, including check-in, immigration and customs by June this year. In a statement, MAHB said the first phase of the AQMS has been completed for all security screening checkpoints including the boarding gates.
Censof Holdings Bhd has bagged a RM17.86 million contract to develop a commercial vehicle licensing system for the Transport Ministry. In an exchange filing today, the group said its wholly-owned subsidiary Century Software (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd accepted a letter of award today from the ministry, which is for a period of 36 months commencing from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2024. The licensing system generally caters for the application of commercial licences for land, maritime and air transportation.
UEM Sunrise Bhd has entered into a conditional sale and purchase agreement to buy a 9.93-acre leasehold piece of factory land and the buildings thereon from Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd in Section 13, Petaling Jaya for RM200 million, with plans to build a RM1.3 billion mixed-use development there.
Bermaz Auto Bhd's (BAuto) net profit in its third quarter ended Jan 31, 2021 rose 21.85% to RM33.08 million from RM27.15 million a year ago on higher local sales of vehicles. Earnings per share rose to 2.85 sen from 2.34 sen previously. The group declared a dividend of 1.5 sen apiece, up from 1.45 sen previously, but total dividend per share for the nine-month period fell to 3.25 sen, from 7.45 sen the year before.
Chin Hin Group Property Bhd (CHGP) is looking to diversify its business to include construction through the acquisition of a 45% stake in Aima Construction Sdn Bhd for RM31.5 million. The group is currently involved in the assembly and sales of new and rebuilt commercial vehicles and property development. CHGP said the proposed acquisition will enable the group to tap into the construction industry, which is complementary to its existing property development business.
Vizione Holdings Bhd has secured three construction contracts with a cumulative value of RM801 million which it said "considerably enhances" its outstanding order book. The construction engineering group said the contracts were awarded to its wholly-owned subsidiary Vizione Builder Sdn Bhd. They included a RM405 million design and build contract, which includes detailed structural infrastructure, mechanical and electrical as well as construction works in Puchong, from Esplanade Parkcity Sdn Bhd.
With the higher education industry hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, SEG International Bhd's (SEGi) net profit fell 16% to RM8.73 million in the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2020, from RM10.39 million a year earlier. Quarterly revenue declined 11% to RM52.34 million from RM58.78 million previously. For the full year, the group's net profit dropped 13% to RM39.18 million from RM45.13 in the previous year, as revenue declined 16% to RM204.12 million from RM243.97 million, partly due to the delayed new enrolments amid the Movement Control Orders and border control.
