KUALA LUMPUR (July 28): National postal and courier company Pos Malaysia Bhd has partnered Singapore-based e-commerce logistics and selling platform Anchanto to strengthen its e-commerce warehousing facilities.

Under the partnership, Pos Malaysia will use Anchanto's warehouse management technology to expand its ability in providing a comprehensive e-fulfilment service.

Anchanto's electronic warehouse management system will be integrated with Pos Malaysia's own processes to form an e-commerce fulfilment system.

In a statement, Pos Malaysia group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh said this strategic collaboration will strengthen its presence in the e-fulfilment business.

"It will enable us to provide and offer a complete range of e-fulfilment services to our customers such as reliable quality packets and parcel delivery products and services, competitive price and high-level support for warehousing management as well as packet and parcel preparation," he said.

Mohd Shukrie said the initiative is expected to generate a new business stream in e-commerce fulfilment business.

"We hope to capitalise on the double digit growth of the e-commerce industry of between 15% and 20% in the coming years," he added.

The new platform will enable Pos Malaysia to provide an end-to-end service for its customers including warehousing and last-mile delivery by Pos Laju.

As such, Pos Malaysia's online sellers will also be able to use Anchanto's SelluSeller, a one-stop platform that enables merchants and enterprises to sell on various e-marketplaces across Asia.

Pos Laju currently handles 84.6 million parcels and documents.

"We're pleased to be working with Pos Malaysia to provide them with our cross-border e-commerce technology that will help them manage the whole spectrum of services," said Anchanto founder and chief executive officer Vaibhav Dabhade.

Founded in 2011, Anchanto platform is an e-commerce ecosystem enabling and connecting all key players across the globe.

At 3.50pm, Pos Malaysia shares were down four sen or 0.77% to RM5.13 with 524,100 shares changing hands, for a market capitalisation of RM4 billion.
