KUALA LUMPUR: Plus Malaysia Bhd has appointed Datuk Azman Ismail as managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of the company from Jan 1, 2017, replacing Datuk Noorizah Abdul Hamid who is retiring.

Plus chairman Tan Sri Mohd Sheriff Mohd Kassim said Noorizah had agreed to stay on for an interim period to assist Azman in familiarising with the operations of Plus, ensuring a smooth leadership transition.

Azman, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, was formerly MD of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and general manager of retail business overseeing Shell’s petroleum retailing in Malaysia and Brunei — two positions he held concurrently.

“Azman has had a distinguished 30-year career at Shell where he held several key roles, including those in operations, retail as well as finance, and recorded numerous achievements. Given his competencies and years of experience, we’re convinced he will continue to steer Plus in achieving all of its goals and objectives,” said Mohd Sheriff in a statement yesterday.
