KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 15): The National ICT Industry Association of Malaysia (PIKOM) will lead a delegation of 60 ICT Industry leaders representing organisations from the private and public sectors to the upcoming 21st World Congress of Information Technology (WCIT) and the annual ASOCIO (Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organisation) ICT Summit in Taiwan.
In a statement today, PIKOM said in line with the theme of the event: “Fulfilling the Promise of the Digital Age: Building and Sharing the Digital Dream”, ASOCIO will launch their inaugural research report entitled: Reimagining the Digital Era during the summit.
The WCIT and the ASOCIO ICT Summit will be held concurrently from Sept 10-14, 2017 at the Taipei International Convention Centre.
ASOCIO Chairman, David Wong Nan Fay, said Asia Pacific’s strong and vibrant economy, favourable demographics, ICT investments, and ongoing economic integration have laid the foundation for the region to become a global leader in the digital economy.
“In this research report, we will be sharing the digital transformation plans of economies in Asia Pacific, key strategies, as well as the importance of digital initiative in the region,” Wong said.
“Asia Pacific has the potential to be a leader in the digital economy and a true digital revolution will transform the region’s ICT sector in the near future,” he added.
Wong also said the ASOCIO ICT summit presents a rare opportunity for Malaysian delegates to learn emerging market trends and technologies and also network with the who’s who in the global ICT industry.
“The Summit offers a platform for the government and industry representatives to share knowledge and experience; develop closer business ties and more importantly, identify new business opportunities,” he said.
Wong added the business matching and site-visits scheduled to take place include trips to the companies Tatung and Syscom Group, to explore opportunities in the Smart Internet of Things and Robotics industries.
