KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 23): Philips Malaysia supports the government’s approach in providing equal emphasis on both economic growth and the wellbeing of Malaysians, by strengthening infrastructure to support economic expansion.
Commenting on Budget 2016, its country manager Muhammad Ali Jaleel said the government’s plan to reengineer economic growth for greater prosperity in Malaysia will ensure growth across all economic sectors.
“This will provide the basis for sustained economic growth, create new economic opportunities and drive continued wellbeing and prosperity among the rakyat.
“This growth will further contribute towards achieving the national aim of becoming an advanced nation that is inclusive and sustainable by 2020,” he said in a statement on budget and the Eleventh Malaysia Plan (2016-2020).
The Malaysian unit of the Netherlands-based Koninklijke Philips NV holds a vision of improving people’s lives through innovation, which would see the lives of three billion people improved by 2025.
“We remain committed to support the government’s initiatives in transforming innovation to wealth for the country, as we aim to continue delivering new technologies that is innovative,” he said.
