KUALA LUMPUR (July 3): Shoppers can look forward to the reopening of levels LG1 and LG2 of the IPC Shopping Centre in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, this month.
The shopping centre has been under redevelopment since March this year to strengthen its presence in the market.
"Phase 1 of the project is coming to a close... The redevelopment is part of our plan to futureproof the centre," said IKEA Southeast Asia shopping centre director Thomas Malmberg in a statement today.
"We're not afraid to make changes to achieve what we believe in: a bigger, brighter, and greener future for us and our shoppers," he added.
With the redevelopment, the mall will also be returning to its roots, sporting a new look with distinctly Scandinavian touches. Level LG1 will now be known as Foodland, complete with a new concept and design.
The mall welcomes back popular tenants such as Uncle Lim, De Irrfan's Café and Noodle Shack, as well as new tenants such as AEON Wellness and Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul. Ben's Independent Grocer will be opening in October.
"The redevelopment effort has given us the opportunity to launch our new duplex concept," said Harvey Norman Malaysia lead general manager Eddy Ng.
"We've grown with IPC over the years and are excited to be a part of this new direction. We believe that this upgrade will answer the needs of our current and future customers, building towards a fun-filled shopping experience for all," he added.
"We consider our presence in IPC Shopping Centre a good way to expand our reach into growing neighbourhoods," said Ben's Independent Grocer managing director David Tseng.
