KUALA LUMPUR (March 21): Petronas LNG Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of national oil firm Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas), has entered into a ten-year deal with Japanese gas utility Toho Gas Co. Ltd (Toho) last Friday, under which Toho will buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Petronas LNG Ltd.

Under the deal, Toho plans to buy seven to nine cargoes per annum, with the contract starting from April 2017.

According to a press release by Toho, the supply sources of LNG will be from Petronas LNG Complex in Bintulu, Malaysia, as well as from the company’s global LNG portfolio.

LNG will be delivered on an ex-ship basis at prices linked to both crude oil and U.S. Henry Hub. The destination of LNG cargoes could be changed once permission is obtained from Petronas, according to the contract details.

This deal was done after the discussion between both parties about the contract details, since entering into Head of Agreements in March 31, 2015.
