KUALA LUMPUR (July 25): Loss-making offshore marine service provider Perdana Petroleum Bhd has bagged a vessel chartering contract worth about RM2.61 million for the provision of a unit of accommodation work barge (AWB) for an offshore project.

In a bourse filing on Monday (July 25), Perdana Petroleum said its wholly-owned subsidiary Perdana Nautika Sdn Bhd entered into the charter contract with Two Offshore Marine Sdn Bhd.

“Perdana Nautika shall provide the AWB with crews and equipment to perform 24-hour services for assisting and servicing drilling rigs, offshore installation, derrick barges, and anchor jobs,” the group added.

It noted that the contract commenced on July 4 this year and is for a duration of up to 39 days, with an option to extend up to 30 days.

Perdana Petroleum said it expects the contract to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of the group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2022 (FY22).

Year to date, shares of Perdana Petroleum had declined 21% to settle at 9.5 sen on Monday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM210.6 million.
