SINGAPORE (July 25): SingTel’s wholly-owned subsidiary and Australian unit, Optus Business, announced a new three-year ICT services agreement to provide Australian insurer QBE Australia voice, mobile and data network services.

Although the actual value of the contract was not disclosed, Optus mentions in a Monday media release that its new agreement is a “multi-million dollar deal”.

The contract supports voice and data services connecting more than 4000 QBE end-users across 42 locations throughout Australia using the Optus network.

“The new 3 year contract with QBE is testament to the depth of our experience and capability,” says John Paitaridis, managing director of Optus Business.

“Our goal is to work closely with our enterprise customers to create shared value and market advantage.”

Tony Forward, Chief Information Officer (CIO) for QBE Australia adds that the partnership with Optus is in line with QBE’s strategy to “offer more personalised and compelling customer experiences”.

SingTel closed 1.65% higher at S$4.30 on July 22.
