<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>KUALA LUMPUR (April 30): The Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) has appointed Nor Azimah Abd Aziz as its new chief executive officer, effective May 1.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Nor Azimah, who was previously the deputy CEO in charge of corporate affairs, takes over from Dr Azman Hussin.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>In a statement today, SSM said Nor Azimah is a trained lawyer with broad experience in the fields of corporate law, enforcement and corporate affairs.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>She joined SSM in 2003 as a General Manager of the Policy Planning and Corporate Development unit and was subsequently made deputy CEO in charge of Regulation &amp; Enforcement on May 1, 2016.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Prior to joining SSM, Nor Azimah was a practising lawyer as well as a law lecturer at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>She was admitted as an advocate and solicitor in 1992 after completing her legal studies at the Institute Technology Mara (now Universiti Teknologi Mara). She also holds a Masters in Business law from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, in the UK.</p></div>
