KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 4): Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) has denied any abuse of power or mismanagement in its investment holding company MARA Corp.
This comes after a Twitter account exposed a letter on Friday (Feb 4) on a request by MARA Corp's executive director to investigate five MARA officers concerning integrity issues.
In a statement, MARA chairman Datuk Seri Azizah Dun said: "MARA views seriously the dissemination of the internal administrative document to the public which has created a negative perception towards MARA and the company concerned."
Azizah said MARA has already commenced further investigation into MARA Corp by reviewing relevant internal documents to ensure the company is always well managed.
"MARA always prioritises integrity practices in our organisation," she added.
Azizah said that if there is any misconduct in the administration of its subsidiary, MARA will not compromise or protect any individual involved.
MARA is a government agency under the purview of the Rural Development Ministry formed to help bumiputeras in business, education and industry.
