KUALA LUMPUR (May 1): The ban on interstate travelling is still in place, except for working purposes.
“Interstate travel to balik kampung for Aidilfitri is not allowed,” said the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in his national address today in conjunction with Labour Day.
However, university students are allowed to return home if they are currently near their campuses in other States.
Meanwhile social activities like outdoor sports which do not involve body contact and group gatherings are allowed, such as badminton, golf, cycling and jogging in small groups of under 10 persons are allowed.
However, schools, colleges and higher learning institutions are still not allowed to resume classes for now.
As many parents will be back at work in offices, the Government will allow nurseries to operate, under strict SOP. On this matter, employers are advised to allow employees with toddlers to at least work alternate days from home and office, said Muhyiddin.
The complete list of businesses and activities that are allowed and not allowed to resume will be listed on https://www.mkn.gov.my/web/ms/.
