KUALA LUMPUR (June 15): Syed Omar Syed Mohamed has been redesignated as Nexgram Holdings Bhd's chief executive officer (CEO) a month after being appointed as executive director of the company.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Nexgram said Syed Omar, 48, will take over as CEO effective today.

Syed Omar has more than 20 years' experience in the corporate world and commercial business, namely in business turnaround and capital raising exercises, property development and construction, and furniture and interior design businesses.

He was a senior business development manager in Federal Furniture Holdings (M) Bhd.

He was also an executive director of Cahaya Pedoman Sdn Bhd, a construction and interior design company with development projects that include Pudu Sentral bus station, the 28-storey Kenanga International Central office and Swiss Garden Hotel Group.

Syed Omar was also a special executive officer in UDA Holdings Bhd, assisting the chief executive director of UDA on various development projects from 2008 until 2010.

He was also a special executive officer to the CEO of Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor.

He was also managing director and group CEO of Damansara Realty Bhd.

In a separate filing, Nexgram said executive director How Han Lun has resigned from the board effective today to focus on projects and operations of the company. He was appointed to the board in September 2014.

According to Nexgram's annual report 2015, How is also general manager responsible for the property division of Nexgram group.

Nexgram shares closed unchanged at 5.5 sen, with a market capitalisation of RM103.52 million.
