KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 22): NCT Group of Companies has roped in three new partners in preparation for its upcoming Selangor Smart Industrial Park (SSIP) project.

In a statement on Monday (Aug 22), the developer said it has signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with AGV Environment Sdn Bhd (AGVE) and Darco Water Systems Sdn Bhd, whereas a collaboration agreement was signed with Pestech Energy Sdn Bhd.

NCT founder and group managing director Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy said the MOUs and collaboration agreement will enable the company to tap into the expertise of the partners to offer the best features while catering to evolving industry needs.

“It is our commitment to ensure that SSIP is conducive and equipped with complete, future-ready infrastructure, utilities, and amenities to attract foreign and domestic investments with a view to long-term sustainable business operations,” he said.

Yap said with sustainability as the key driver of SSIP, NCT inked an MOU with AGVE to collaborate via their technical knowledge and best practices to jointly develop a sustainable eco-industrial park. In addition, the MOU will provide an opportunity for both parties to create awareness and position SSIP as an eco-friendly development, particularly for the state of Selangor.

Meanwhile, AGVE chief executive officer Datin Dr Vijayalakshmi Samuel said evolving environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices necessitate customised sustainable solutions to support environmental stewardship, social equity, and moving towards net zero.

NCT appointed Darco as its water and waste water specialist at SSIP to provide technical advice to NCT on matters relating to water and waste water management for the industrial park.

The collaboration agreement with Pestech was signed to jointly drive decarbonisation ambitions of both parties to reduce industrial and commercial carbon footprint.

NCT said the agreement will include the provision of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles at the SSIP.
