KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 5): My EG Services Bhd (MyEG) said its joint venture company in the Philippines has teamed up with a healthcare group to develop an application for the booking and payment of Covid-19 tests, along with the issuance of a digital QR code as proof of testing.

Under the partnership, I-Pay MYEG Philippines Inc (MYEG Philippines) will develop the mobile application for Family Vaccine Specialty Clinics Inc (FVSC) and will also be its exclusive payment gateway partner.

“MYEG Philippines will also jointly set up and share proportionally in the profits of Covid-19 testing booths on a 50:50 basis,” MyEG said in a statement.

FVSC, it said, operates the largest chain of vaccination clinics in the Philippines with 41 centres.

“Upon completion of testing, users will receive digital certificates as proof of testing through the MyQR by MyEG app,” said MyEG.

It said the partnership between MYEG Philippines and FVSC marks another significant milestone for the group as it continues to strengthen its position as a leading provider of Covid-19 related technology solutions and services in the region.

The group highlighted its appointment by the Ministry of Health in Malaysia to develop and operate MySafeTravel, a digital health pass system to facilitate inbound travellers’ adherence to mandatory testing and quarantine requirements.

It also operates a one-stop portal for screening of workers in the country, which includes a data-sharing collaboration with the Department of Labour of Peninsular Malaysia.

“As the foremost provider of e-government and related commercial services in the region, MyEG is committed to leveraging its expertise to bring innovations and solutions that can help governments, businesses and citizens in the ongoing fight against the Covid-19 virus,” said the group.

MyEG’s share price closed up four sen or 2.84% at RM1.45, giving a market capitalisation of RM5.21 billion.
