According to shareholders, the resolution to reappoint Musa Hitam as chairman and director of Sime Darby was withdrawn at today's 4-hour AGM. 

There was no press conference after the AGM, although a room had been prepared for one.

"Yes, the chairman has retired," said one Sime Darby's official. 

Another Sime Darby official also confirmed this piece of news.

The group is set to release an official statement later today.
