MRT Corp announces new appointments, key movements

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 13): Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) has announced several changes and additions to its senior management team.

In a statement today, MRT Corp said the Stakeholder Relations & Land Management Division has been renamed Commercial & Stakeholder Relations Division (CSRD) effective July 16, 2015.

Within the CSRD, the Business Development Department has been set up to handle all business-related matters of the project once service commences. Haris Fadzilah Hassan is the director of CSRD.

A new division has also been set-up to oversee matters relating to operations. The Operations & Assets Management Division (OAMD) will be formalised on Aug 17 to oversee the operator of the Sungai Buloh–Kajang (SBK) Line.

The division will also be managing all project assets including rolling stock, guideways and depots.

Also under the OAMD will be the feeder bus services for the SBK Line. Mahmood Abdul Razak, who is currently heading the Strategic Communications & Public Relations Division (SCPRD), will spearhead the new division.

MRT Corp also announced the appointment of Datuk Najmuddin Abdullah as the new director of SCPRD starting Sept 1.

Najmuddin joins MRT Corp from Malaysia Airlines, where he was the senior vice-president of strategic communications.

Meanwhile, a chief integrity officer has been appointed at MRT Corp.

The company said Zainal Adam has been seconded from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission from Aug 15. His appointment is for two years.
