In a written reply to Kuala Nerus Member of Parliament Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali, MoF said these companies included Astronautic Technology (M) Sdn Bhd, Halal Industry Development Corp Sdn Bhd, Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd, Inno Bio Ventures Sdn Bhd, Institut Terjemahan dan Buku Malaysia Bhd, Jambatan Kedua Sdn Bhd, Keretapi Tanah Malayu Bhd, MIMOS Bhd, MyHSR Corp Sdn Bhd, Prasarana Sdn Bhd, Rangkaian Hotel Seri Malaysia Sdn Bhd, SIRIM Bhd, Sepang International Circuit Sdn Bhd, Syarikat Perumahan Negara Bhd and Technology Park Malaysia Corp Sdn Bhd.

"These companies that incurred losses were not profit oriented but meant for certain purpose based on mandate that have been fixed by the government like provision of public infrastructure, [encouraging] economic development through support on creation of new industry, encouragement of new technology development activities to attract foreign investor and fill market gap," MoF explained.

Through MoF Inc, MoF said the government will ensure that these companies operate in line with their objectives via "their annual business plan, key performance indicators report, annual financial statement, quarterly management report and discussion with them from time to time".

MoF also said as at FY15, Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB) was the only loss making government linked company under the "GLC Transformation Programme" (G20).

"MAB is undergoing a restructuring process, therefore all other G20 companies have been recording profits," it said.
