KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 23): Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has unveiled the all-new Mercedes-Benz S 580 e Plug In Hybrid on Wednesday (Feb 23), following the successful introduction of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class last December. 

The flagship Mercedes-Benz is locally assembled in Pekan, Pahang and priced at RM698,744 inclusive of the 0% sales tax until June 30, 2022 (for Peninsular Malaysia).

“The new S-Class can be experienced with all the senses seeing, feeling, hearing and smelling while offering numerous innovations in the areas of driver assistance, protection and interaction. 

“The new S 580 e Plug In Hybrid additionally offers a range of 100 km (approx.), while the electric motor is capable of generating an additional 110 kW of power and 440 Nm of torque, on top of the 270 kW (367 hp) and 500 Nm already available from the internal combustion engine,” it said in a statement on Wednesday. 

According to the luxury car manufacturer, the second generation of the MBUX NTG 7 system in the new S-Class makes the vehicle interior even more digital and intelligent due to improvement in both the hardware and software, namely brilliant displays on up to five large screens, in part with OLED technology, making the control of vehicle and comfort functions even easier. 

This includes a 12.3” cockpit display and a 12.8” OLED portrait-oriented media display, it added. 

“As a true embodiment of modern luxury, the new Mercedes-Benz S 580 e is a testament to the latest technology and innovations that makes the customer's driving experience, one to never forget,” it added.
