KUALA LUMPUR (June 9): Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn Bhd unveiled the brand new E-Class today, with four models comprising the E 200 Avantgarde, E 250 Avantgarde, E 250 Exclusive and E 300 AMG Line being introduced to the local market.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia's vice president Mark Raine said the tenth-generation E-Class will be available in the complete built up (CBU) form before the complete knock-down (CKD) units were introduced in next year.
"The selling price for the entry-level model of the E 200 starts from RM395,888, on-the-road without insurance," Raine said.
For the other three modesl, Raine said the two E 250 versions will only be available in September while the E 300 will be introduced in November. The selling price for the three models will be announced at a later date.
"The E-Class is the core of the Mercedes-Benz brand and in the past has repeatedly redifined the standards in the premium executive-class segment," Raine said, adding the new line-up also is the most intelligent sedan in the premium segment market.
"It now carries this tradition into the future with a wealth of top-class innovations, stylish highlights and an impecable interior with high value perception," he shared.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is a joint venture between Daimler AG and Cycle & Carriage Bintang Bhd.
At Bursa Malaysia, Cycle & Carriage Bintang shares gained four sen or 1.26% to settle at RM3.22 at 12:30pm.
The FBM KLCI rose1.96 points or 0.12% at 1,659.81 points. At RM3.22, Cycle & Carriage Bintang has a market value of RM324.39 million.
