KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 14): Media Prima Television Networks (MPTN) has inked a partnership with Brunei’s Datastream Technology Sdn Bhd (DST) to bring its popular over-the-top (ott) streaming service tonton to Brunei.

This strategic marketing partnership provides DST customers in Brunei the privilege of watching tonton anywhere and anytime via the tonton app which can be downloaded from the App Store, Google Play or tonton.com.my.

MPTN’s Director of tonton & Licensing and Merchandising, Airin Zainul said “tonton has made great strides since its launch last year and is now expanding its empire by bringing quality Malaysian and international content to Bruneians through this exclusive partnership with DST”.

She added that it is the group’s aim to expand tonton internationally.

In May this year, it signed a similar collaboration with Singtel to reach into the Singaporean market. It will also be making its foray into another market by year end.

“Today, by signing this agreement, tonton is officially available in Brunei. By end of this year, we hope to be available in one more regional country. We hope to expand the brand and its content outside of Malaysia, delivering our local content to the world” said Airin,

Marsad Ismail, Deputy CEO of DST said the partnership will enable DST to provide a broader selection of infotainment services for its subscribers given its high demand and versatility of offerings.

“Being the only local company providing 4G services currently, we want to keep being the leading company that can enhance our customer’s digital experience and we are positive that customers will enjoy tonton,” said Marsad.
