<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 2): Media Prima Bhd has announced it will collaborate with China-based television network Hunan Broadcasting System to co-produce programmes as well as broadcast Hunan-produced content on 8TV.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>In a statement on Wednesday, Media Prima group managing director Rafiq Razali said the collaboration marks a momentous occasion as the company embarks on a journey with Hunan to bring special programmes and initiatives to Malaysian viewers.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“We recognise Hunan as one of China’s biggest media groups and by associating with them via our own Chinese TV network, 8TV, I believe that this serves as a gateway for opportunities, technological exchange as well as entrepreneurial ventures for Chinese small and medium enterprises to set up their business here on our shore,” he added.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Media Prima said that the collaboration is supported by Chinese TV channel Henan Satellite TV, which promotes traditional arts and culture from China.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Shares in Media Prima finished half a sen or 1.2% higher at 42 sen, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM460.45 million.</p></div>
