KUALA LUMPUR (March 26): Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) today listed 350 million yuan (about RM221.69 million) worth of bonds due 2022 on the Singapore Exchange (SGX).

In a statement to the SGX yesterday, Maybank said the issue date of the notes, which pay an interest rate of 3.1% a year, was yesterday.

“The notes will be listed/quoted on the bond market with effect from 9am on Friday, March 26, 2021 (today),” Maybank said.

Maybank, however, did not say how the bond sale proceeds will be used.

The lead managers and bookrunners of the notes are Maybank Kim Eng Securities Pte Ltd and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp Ltd (HSBC), according to Maybank, which is Malaysia’s most-valuable listed group.

On Bursa Malaysia today, Maybank’s share price had fallen one sen or 0.12% to RM8.22 at 9.47am, giving it a market value of about RM92.39 billion.

Maybank has 11.24 billion issued shares, according to its latest quarterly financial report.
