KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 6): Maxis Bhd has appointed Jennifer Wong as its new chief financial officer, effective Oct 3.
She will take over the role from Wayne Treeby, whose service contract expires at the end of September, Maxis said in a statement to Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday (Sept 6).
Wong, who has more than 20 years of experience in accounting, controlling, financial and operations management, as well as business planning and analysis, was previously the CFO of Celcom Axiata Bhd.
"We are confident that her vast industry experience will be highly valuable to our business and our ambitions. Meanwhile, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Wayne for his invaluable contributions to the company and wish him success in his future endeavours," said Maxis chief executive officer Gokhan Ogut.
Maxis shares closed up six sen or 1.63% at RM3.75 on Tuesday, giving the telecommunications company a market capitalisation of RM29.36 billion.
