KUALA LUMPUR (May 8): Hovid Bhd has received the manufacturing licence for its pharmaceutical facility in Ipoh, Perak, from Malaysia's Health Ministry after Hovid complied with the ministry's regulations.

Hovid said this in a statement to Bursa Malaysia today. The ministry revoked the licence for the facility along Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman in January this year.

Today, Hovid said: "The (re-issued) licence is valid from May 5, 2017, to be renewed three months prior to the expiry date on Dec 31, 2017."

On Jan 9 this year, Hovid said the ministry revoked the manufacturing licences of Hovid's two facilities in Perak due to non-compliance with the regulator's good manufacturing practice.

Besides the Ipoh facility, Hovid said the ministry also revoked the licence for the facility along Jalan Ipoh/Chemor in Chemor.

On March 6, Hovid said the ministry re-issued the licence for the Chemor facility. The company said the licence would be valid from March 6 to Dec 31 this year.

Today, Hovid's share trade was suspended between 10:56am and 11:56am in conjunction with the Ipoh facility's licence re-issuance announcement.

At 12:30pm, Hovid shares rose 0.5 sen or 1.39% to settle at 36.5 sen for a market value of RM299.49 million. The stock saw 9.71 million shares traded.
