KUALA LUMPUR (June 17): Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB) has appointed Faridah Hashim as its head of corporate communications from July 1, 2015, as well as Laurent Recoura as head of sales effective June 29, 2015.

In a statement today, MAB said Faridah will be assisting the airline in implementing strategic communication plans with its diverse stakeholders.

She brings with her over 20 years of experience in corporate communications and management capacities.

Faridah was previously head of corporate communications for Axiata Group Bhd. Prior to that, she was director and public relations consultant at Media Business Network and Hill & Knowlton, the UK.

Recoura, a French national, will be in charge of the development and deployment of effective and customised sales and customer interaction and experience strategies at MAB.

He brings with him over 30 years of experience in the tourism and airline industry.

Prior to his appointment, Recoura worked at Asia Air Philippines as chief of commercial strategy; at Philippine Airlines as chief operating advisor and head of commercial group; and at Continental/United Airlines as regional director for the Middle East, India and Africa.
