KUB appoints new chairman and independent non-executive director

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 27): KUB Malaysia Bhd has appointed Datuk Ahmad Ibnihajar as the group's new chairman and independent non-executive director.

Besides KUB, Ahmad, 65, is also currently the chairman of D'Nonce Technology Bhd and Penang Sentral Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd (MRCB).

In a statement, KUB said that Ahmad was previously the chairman of Commerce Assurance Bhd and has held directorship positions in MRCB and PWF Consolidated Bhd.

He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, and holds a Bachelor of Economics (Business Administration) from University Malaya.

KUB has also appointed Mohammad Farish Nizar Othman, who is also currently the director of advisory and value added services of Malaysian Technology Development Corp Sdn Bhd (MTDC), as an independent non-executive director.

Mohammad Farish, 43, has experience as a chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Kuala Lumpur and subsequently with KPMG Kuala Lumpur.

He has also served in the business development function at Scomi Engineering Bhd before returning to his current position at MTDC.
