KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 6): Property developer KSK Group Bhd's unit KSK Land Sdn Bhd plans to fund over RM1 million for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) within the food and beverage (F&B) sector with the launch of its Platter Accelerator programme.
In a statement today, KSK Land said the programme aims to promote and sustain the growth of F&B SMEs, and is open to all F&B SMEs in both Malaysia and around the world with benefits including financial support of up to RM100,000 per applicant, technical support, a space in Platter (within the retail lifestyle quarters of its serviced residence 8 Conlay) and mentoring from industry experts in order to elevate and expand their vision for the future.
KSK Land managing director and CEO of KSK Group Joanne Kua said the programme is aimed at providing a spring boost to carefully selected restaurateurs to create a diverse and unified culinary ecosystem that would also set the stage for aspiring food artists.
“We are seeking to nurture shared experiences and exemplify cross-industry collaborations between young business owners in the field of F&B.
“The accelerator programme is also the first of its kind in Malaysia,” she added.
KSK Land noted in addition to a tenancy agreement, the recipients of the Platter Accelerator programme will benefit from industry mentoring, where the firm will provide a host of the industry’s most seasoned mentors to guide the emerging business owners in marketing and branding.
Eligibility for the programme requires applicants to have a minimum of two years in operation and should be able to demonstrate a financial break-even from their profit and loss statements, as well as business growth potential, said the firm.
It said displaying culinary concepts that are different, embody the Platter story and challenge the status quo through creativity and grit is an important requirement.
Located inside the retail space of 8 Conlay, in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Platter will be the first experience-driven dining hall in Malaysia upon its completion in 2021, said KSK Land.
