KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 11): Audit firm KPMG Malaysia has not received any update from the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on its slated appearance before the Parliamentary body since PAC's investigation into 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) was temporarily suspended.
KPMG managing partner Datuk Johan Idris said the firm has not received any notification from PAC on when the firm is expected to be summoned for questioning since investigations were temporarily suspended following PAC chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamad's appointment as Deputy Home Minister and three other members as deputy ministers.
"No, we have not received any notification from the PAC," he told reporters after a press conference on the 2015 Global Audit Committee Survey.
"We also did not receive a letter from the PAC on the second summon (for questioning)," he added.
Former 1MDB audit firms KPMG Malaysia and Deloitte was first questioned by PAC in mid-June this year.
Following this, it was reported that PAC had called upon auditors KPMG Malaysia, Deloitte and Ernst and Young for another round of questioning in September on discrepancies raised by the Auditor-General's interim report.
