KUALA LUMPUR (March 31): KPJ Healthcare Bhd has named Datuk Md Arif Mahmood as its new chairman and Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh as its new managing director.

Md Ariff, the former Petronas executive vice-president and CEO of downstream business, is replacing Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa, who resigned as the chairman due to health reasons after having served since June 2021.

Shukrie, the former Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd CEO,  is replacing Ahmad Shahizam Mohd Shariff who had
served as managing director since July 2020.

KPJ also announced the redesignation of Datuk Mohd Redza Shah Abd Wahid as independent and non-executive director.

The changes are effective April 1, according to the group’s stock exchange filings.

KPJ’s share price ended unchanged at RM1.01 on Thursday (March 31), valuing the healthcare group at RM4.55 billion.
