JOHOR BAHRU (May 12): Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd (formerly Fututec Bhd) has won a construction contract worth RM312.85 million from property developer BCB Bhd for the main building works of the proposed phase 1 of Elysia Park Residence in Iskandar Malaysia.

The award confirmed a report by Edge Weekly and The Edge Financial Daily, which quoted sources, had said Kerjaya Prospek is set to win a contract worth RM300 million from the Batu Pahat-based property developer.

Today, Kerjaya Prospek's executive chairman Datuk Tee Eng Ho signed a Letter of Award (LoA) with BCB Height Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of BCB, for the contract above.

BCB was represented by its group managing director Datuk Tan Seng Leong.

Speaking to pressmen after the signing ceremony, Tee said the entire construction and completion of the main building works has been scheduled to begin this month, and is targetted to be completed by 2019.

"We are thankful to BCB to have [been] awarded this project, and to have recognised and trusted our capabilities in undertaking this project," Tee said.

With the latest winning, Tee said the group's orderbook has reached RM596.61 million, approaching the group's internal target to secure an orderbook of RM600 million this year.

"We are still tendering for about RM1.5 billion worth of projects in Klang Valley and Penang. The result will be announced in the next five or six months," he added.

"Our winning rate is about 20% to 30%, and we are working toward more job wins by the end of the year," he shared.

Meanwhile, Tan said BCB had awarded the contract to Kerjaya Prospek, based on the latter's strong track record.

"As a property developer, we need a partner that is able to deliver quality jobs and on time," he added.
