KUALA LUMPUR: JP Morgan Treasury Services (TS) has appointed Wong Hooi Ching as Malaysia’s new head of TS in an effort to strengthen its senior management team in Southeast Asia.
“In Wong’s capacity as head of Treasury Services Malaysia — an important growth market for JP Morgan’s clients — she will oversee the development of JP Morgan Chase Bank Bhd’s operations,” JP Morgan Chase & Co said in a statement on Monday.
Wong has over 15 years of experience including her last position at Citi Malaysia. It ranges across transaction banking functions, including cash management, Treasury and trade solutions and credit analysis, in addition to a number of sales, product and relationship management roles.
JP Morgan also announced the appointment of Abdul Raof Latiff as head of TS Asean and Nadia Schiavon as head of TS Australia & New Zealand.
“The appointments of Raof and Wong will further strengthen JP Morgan’s Southeast Asia capabilities, a region which is continuing to emerge as an operational hub for large global multinational corporations (MNCs) expanding their presence in the region, and for large domestic companies in Asia seeking to tap new markets to leverage the region’s growth prospects,” said the group.
Singapore-based Raof will be tasked with enhancing the group’s end-to-end client service experience, supporting regional and domestic product and sales initiatives and guiding the firm’s broader growth strategy across a number of Asian markets, especially Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Pakistan.
Raof will also support the continued build-out of the firm’s global corporate bank (GCB). Of his 17 years in the industry, the last seven were spent within JP Morgan.
The group’s business across Australia and New Zealand will be managed by Schiavon who will also work closely with GCB Investment Bank and Worldwide Securities Services.
On the appointments, Tom Du
Charme, CEO Asia-Pacific for JP Morgan Treasury and Securities Services (TSS), said: “These appointments mark an important phase in JP Morgan’s aggressive international growth agenda.
“By further aligning our global and regional capabilities with a more sharply focused domestic market presence across Asia Pacific, we can enhance the range of services we offer to our cross-border clients as they continue to identify growth opportunities and execute their expansion plans”.
