KUALA LUMPUR (March 31): Johari Abdul Muid has retired as an independent and non-executive director of Bursa Malaysia Bhd.

According to an exchange filing, Johari’s retirement will take effect tomorrow.

He was appointed to the post on April 1, 2016 where he also assumed the role of Bursa Malaysia public interest director.
The 62-year-old corporate figure has over 30 years of experience in the financial sector having held top posts at various firms, including the Employees Provident Fund, Retirement Fund (Inc) and RHB Bank Bhd.

He is currently the director of Al Rajhi Banking and Investment Corp (M) Bhd, Nomura Asset Management Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Nomura Islamic Asset Management Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
