KUALA LUMPUR (April 10): Nasir Jalaludin, aka Nash, was born in Lenggong, Perak, but left it for Ipoh, from which he set off to work in hospitality setups around the world. Five years ago, he returned to Rumah Tiang 16, the house his late father built in 1974, to ponder what he was looking for in life, and found a hidden gem. Lenggong has everything going for it, from history to geography, archaeology, architecture and nature, plus a community that is quite unaware of its Unesco World Heritage Site status.

Tapping his three decades of experience, Nash wants to tell the world about Lenggong by bringing in its community to share the things unique to their little town. He curates heritage stays at Rumah Tiang 16 and hopes that connecting guests and villagers will drive community-based tourism.

Here's your chance to do something to save the tigers, a species in danger of extinction. From Feb 26 to April 9, the World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature Singapore organised the AR-mazing Tiger Trail 2022, under which 33 tiger sculptures and more than 20 art pieces were shown at different locations around the island. These were created by 60 artists from 14 countries. Marking the end of the trail, WWF together with Sotheby’s will hold an online auction from April 12 to May 5 of the sculptures and art works, proceeds of which will go towards WWF’s programmes.
