JAKARTA (Aug 12): Indonesian rupiah fell 1 percent to 13,750 per U.S. dollar on Wednesday as Asian currencies decline in the wake of China's yuan devaluation.

The rupiah hit its lowest since level July 1998, while the yield on the Indonesian 10-year government bond rose to 8.624 percent from 8.489 percent a day earlier.

The People's Bank of China set the midpoint rate for yuan at its weakest guidance rate for the currency since October 2012, hurting other Asian curencies.
