KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 14): Hong Seng Consolidated Bhd, formerly known as MSCM Holdings Bhd, has announced the resignation of Datuk Seri Dr Chen Chaw Min as its independent non-executive chairman — just over six months since his appointment.
The retired government officer resigned to concentrate on his other careers, the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
Chen, 60, was appointed to the post on June 1.
Chen started his career with the civil service in 1988 and held many posts in the government. He served as the secretary general of the Ministry of Health from July 2015 until his retirement from the civil service on Feb 4 this year.
Chen was also the chairman of ProtectHealth Malaysia and a board member of the National Heart Institute (IJN).
Hong Seng's share price settled one sen or 0.35% higher at RM2.85 on Tuesday (Dec 14), for a market capitalisation of RM7.28 billion.
