KUALA LUMPUR (April 28): Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd is recalling 77,708 vehicles to replace fuel pumps as a precautionary measure.

In a statement yesterday, Honda Malaysia said the vehicles affected were manufactured between 2018 and 2020.

The vehicle models involved in this recall are Accord (manufactured between 2018 and 2019), City (2019), City (HEV) (2019), BR-V (2018 to 2020), CRV (2019 to 2020), Civic (2018 to 2019), HR-V (2018), HRV (HEV) (2018), Jazz (2019 to 2020) and Jazz (HEV) (2019 to 2020).

“Honda Malaysia assures customers that safety is the company’s priority. The company regrets the inconvenience caused.

“Honda Malaysia apologises for the inconvenience caused to the affected customers and reassures that all its current selling models are not affected in this product recall,” it said.

According to the company, the product recall is a necessary preventive measure to avert possible difficulty in starting engines, loss of engine power or vehicle stalling.

“The replacement of the affected fuel pump is free of charge and all cost related to this replacement activity will be borne by Honda Malaysia. The replacement stock will be available in stages,” it said.
