KUALA LUMUR: Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, the chairman and chief executive of Genting Bhd, announces in a statement the passing of his mother Puan Sri Lee Kim Hua, widow of Genting Group's late founder, Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong.

The Lim family will hold a wake which will begin tomorrow, according to the statement issued by Kok Thay.
 
“On behalf of my family and the Genting group of companies, it is with great sadness, I announce that my beloved mother, Puan Sri Lee Kim Hua has passed away peacefully this morning (August 25),” said Kok Thay, who has been in the helm of the Genting group since 2003.

Lee was 88. China Press reported Lee married at the age of 16, to the then 26-year-old Lim in 1944.

The late Lee was survived by six children Lim Siew Lay, Siew Lian, Siew Kim, Tee Keong, Kok Thay and Chee Wah and grandchildren.

The wake will begin on Aug 26 at 6pm and ends on Monday at 11pm at the family residence: No. 28, Jalan Tengku Ampuan, Taman Duta, Kuala Lumpur, the statement read.
