PETALING JAYA: The results of the 13th general election (GE13) were gazetted yesterday, and the Election Commission has announced that unhappy parties can file their petitions with the respective high courts.

“They have 21 days to do so, starting tomorrow [today],” the EC said in a statement yesterday.

Since the election on May 5, there have been claims of electoral fraud, including the existence of phantom voters, problems with the electoral roll and complaints about the indelible ink.

The opposition has said previously it would challenge the results of 29 parliamentary seats, which they alleged would affect the Barisan Nasional’s legitimacy to form the federal government.
