KUALA LUMPUR (July 25): General Electric (GE) Malaysia has appointed Datuk Mark Rozario as its new chief executive officer (CEO), with effect from Aug 7.

Mark most recently served as the CEO of Agensi Inovasi Malaysia (AIM), a government statutory body chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and tasked to implement a national strategy to nurture and catalyse innovation.

In a statement today, GE Malaysia said Mark will oversee the portfolio overall of the group's operations in Malaysia, and will be responsible for leading and implementing GE Malaysia's strategic corporate objectives in the country.

Prior to his role at AIM, Mark was the group managing director of a Malaysian listed property group. He has a degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

GE's footprint in Malaysia dates back to 1975 with a sales and service centre.

Today, the group has over 1,300 employees in the country and made over RM1 billion in investments here.
