KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 5): FWD Takaful Bhd has inked an agreement to provide a digital therapeutic programme for its online family cancer plan, FWD Care Direct.
The Takaful provider signed a partnership agreement with Naluri Hidup Sdn Bhd to provide a digital therapeutics programme on the latter's Naluri mobile application to FWD Care Direct certificate holders.
Speaking to reporters at the signing ceremony for the agreement today, FWD Takaful chief executive officer Salim Majid Zain said certificate holders will be able to access the application upon submitting their claims.
"The Digital Therapeutics Programme will provide an optional value-added service for our FWD Care Direct customers that is personalised to support their emotional, mental and physical needs upon cancer diagnosis," said Salim.
Meanwhile, Naluri CEO Azran Osman-Rani said its application will provide access to health coaching.
"Naluri's digital application will provide access to health coaching that combines much needed, but often neglected, psychological support with disease and lifestyle management," Azran said.
According to FWD Takaful chief strategy and digital distribution officer Wan Ahmad Najib Wan Ahmad Lutfi, its online products currently have 140 certificate holders.
When asked if the takaful provider and the application would extend their collaboration to include other takaful products, Azran said it was FWD Takaful's decision, and Wan Ahmad said the group is always looking at putting more digital solutions into its products.
The FWD Care Direct plan provides instant coverage from RM100,000 to RM250,000 — offering a 100% pay-out diagnosis of cancer.
FWD Care Direct also offers cancer protection for an entire family of up to four people in a single plan.
According to Azran, the Naluri app has some 8,000 users, half of which have graduated from their respective wellness programmes.
Naluri offers access to health coaches, medical advisors, pharmacists and dieticians to its subscribers.
