KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 12): The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) said today it fully takes cognisance of the proclamation of a state of emergency nationwide by Yang di-Pertuan Agong as a measure to fight the Covid-19 pandemic and to contain the current high rate of infections in Malaysia.
In a statement today, FMM said the proclamation of emergency will not impede business operations.
FMM president Tan Sri Soh Thian Lai said the industry hopes, with the Covid-19 vaccines available soon and the current layered implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) in the country, it will effectively flatten the curve and bring down the number of Covid-19 cases and that the emergency order could be withdrawn as soon as possible.
Soh also reminded industry players to strictly observe the Covid-19 precautionary measures and be diligent as well as be vigilant in adhering to the standard operating procedures as breaking this chain of infections is a concerted effort of everyone.
