KUALA LUMPUR (June 8): Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) settlers nationwide will be paid a Hari Raya Aidilfitri special incentive of RM450 each on Tuesday.
In a statement today, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said an estimated 112,635 settlers will receive the incentive totalling RM50.68 million.
For this, the Finance Ministry has provided an allocation of RM50 million to Felda through the Prime Minister's Department, said Lim.
"For settlers who have accounts with Felda, the incentive will be directly credited to those accounts, while for those who do not have an account with Felda, the payment will be made in cash by the respective local Felda management," Lim said.
He said the payment is not part of the Bantuan Sara Hidup Rakyat (formerly known as BR1M) payment that is to be distributed separately.
The government has started to hand out RM1.6 billion to almost 4.1 million BSHR recipients since June 6.
"This is in line with the Pakatan Harapan manifesto to raise the living standards of Felda settlers and their families," Lim said.
