KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 2): Farah Rosley has been appointed the new Malaysia tax markets leader of Ernst & Young Tax Consultants Sdn Bhd, effective yesterday.

In a statement today, EY said Farah will be tasked with driving the effective implementation of the tax market strategy as well as strengthening the EY brand.

Farah has more than 20 years of experience in managing corporate tax engagements across a variety of sectors, conducting feasibility studies, reviewing incentive packages, as well as negotiating and securing special incentive packages, said EY.

Farah, it added, has also been involved in special government initiatives and studies on tax matters, and has lent insights into government policies for specific sectors.

Farah joined the group as a partner in 2013 and has contributed significantly to building a portfolio of clients.

She said it is an honour to be given the opportunity to lead the market growth and expansion of EY’s tax services in Malaysia.

“Against a grim economic landscape caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the immediate future will pose many challenges as well as opportunities for businesses.

“It makes this an incredibly exciting moment for me to be taking on this role. I look forward to the opportunity to further enhance EY's tax leadership position in Malaysia,” she said.

Farah is also the current president of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia. Other than that, she is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), as well as a licensed tax agent with the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
