KUALA LUMPUR (March 24): Former chairman of the National Film Development Corporation (FINAS), Datuk Gerald Hans Isaac has resigned as an independent director of Perdana Petroleum Bhd effective March 23, 2021 after serving the oil and gas company for more than five years.
In a filing today, Hans, 50, cited time constraints in carrying out his directors’ duties, as well as heavy responsibility and commitment towards the “Kita Budak Ampang” non-governmental organisation, as the reasons for his resignation.
In a separate filing, the group also announced the departure of another independent director, Sitinur Mokhtar, 48, from its board. She also cited time constraints in performing her duties as director as the reason for her resignation.
According to the group’s website, Perdana Petroleum is a leading provider of Offshore Marine Services for the upstream oil and gas industry.
It owns and operates a fleet of vessels that consist of anchor handling tug supply vessels, accommodation workboats and workbarges to support an array of offshore activities from exploration, development, facilities installation, hook-up and commissioning, production, operation, and maintenance.
Shares of Perdana Petroleum ended 0.5 sen or 3.03% lower at 16 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM354 million.
