KUALA LUMPUR (June 5): Enra Group Bhd has teamed up with railway track solutions provider Emrail Sdn Bhd to provide services for rail and track transportation projects in Malaysia.
 
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Enra Group said its wholly-owned subsidiary Enra Engineering & Construction Sdn Bhd (EEC) and Emrail will set up a joint venture (JV) company on a 51:49 basis.
 
The JV aims to provide total engineering solutions and services, civil works, rolling stock, project and asset management, as well as maintenance services for domestic rail transport projects.
 
Enra said the venture is in line with the group’s plans to explore new businesses with growth potential, and expects activities undertaken by the JV company to contribute positively to its future profitability.
 
“EEC will fund its initial aforesaid investment in the JV company, through internally-generated funds,” it said.
 
Enra’s shares were not traded today. They were last traded at RM2.80, giving the group a market value of RM377.77 million.
