He said the high turnout was due to 90% of voters who live in the constituency.

"They are mostly rubber tappers and fisherman," he said adding that there are only about 1,300 outside voters with a small number from Klang Valley while the rest are at different areas in Kelantan.

Meanwhile both Barisan Nasional candidate Tuan Aziz Tuan Mat and PAS' Mohd Fauzi Abdullah will not vote as they are not voters in the Manek Urai constituency. Both are voters under the Guchil state seat which also comes under the Kuala Krai parliamentary seat.

Results are expected at about 8pm Tuesday. Manek Urai has about 12,000 voters.
