KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 19): Digi Business announced its ongoing collaboration with Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) to equip its offshore platforms with private LTE networks for its overall operational efficiencies and elevating its workforce wellbeing, following the digital business solutions provider’s pilot project in 2019 on one of the oil major’s main offshore platforms.

In a statement, Digi Business said that the full high-speed connectivity coverage will allow crew members full mobility and remote work with Internet of Things (IOT) devices, while enabling real-time collaboration that increases productivity.

“Our offshore teams can take advantage of enhanced communications and Industry 4.0 capabilities to simplify asset maintenance, as well as optimise costs and productivity,” according to Petronas’s chief digital officer Aadrin Azly.

CelcomDigi’s head of enterprise sales Patricia Choo added that the company supports Petronas’s efforts to connect all of its offshore platforms with innovative technology and customised digital solutions that will enhance its operational performance, while maintaining a high standard of safety.

“We look forward to unlocking more synergies and new possibilities from this partnership,” said Choo.

Since 2019, the digital business solution provider has carried out a pilot project on highly-secured private LTE networks at Petronas’s main offshore platforms since 2019.

At market close on Monday (Dec 19), DiGi.Com Bhd’s share price has increased to nine sen or 2.43% at RM3.79, while its market capitalisation was at RM44.46 billion.
