KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 9): Destini Bhd said the group has won amother maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) contract worth RM163.61 million from the Ministry of Transport.
The contract, awarded to the group's 70%-owned unit M Rail Technics Sdn Bhd, involves 10 electric train sets (ETS) operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB).
“During the maintenance period, the ETS will require to undergo Level 4 MRO to ensure its safety and reliability, which includes scheduled maintenance, repairs and spare parts replacement in accordance with the maintenance programme,” said Destini in a bourse filing.
Level 4 MRO service is carried out based on a train's operational time or kilometres in service.
MRail Technics is a 70:30 joint venture company between Destini and KTMB Technics Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of KTMB.
In May, MRail Technics accepted another Level 4 MRO contract for 35 electric trains operated by KTMB worth RM531.39 million.
At the closing bell on Friday, Destini shares were up 7.14% or half a sen at 7.5 sen, valuing the group at RM115.85 million.
